Heart

This is a picture of a heart hairtie on a piece of notebook paper with a wooden bead bracelet. It looks a old photograph from the 70's

This is a heart-shaped sticker on my dad's old record player that he no longer uses

This is the same hairtie as the first photo. I tied the hairtie to the lamp and I like how the
light is shining down like a halo.

A Hot Day

This is very plainly titled for a reason! Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while though... Sometimes it's just hard to find inspiration when the start of summer is making me lethargic and sleepy.

I shot this about a week and half ago and just changed the color intensity and contrast of the photos. I wanted to leave the natural feel of the photos.

Photobucket

I remember waiting desperately for the sunlight to come back and then the whole photo turned out weirdly yellow green although I attempted to fix most of it.

Photobucket

My friend's hair looks AMAZING here the sunlight hit it at just the right angle :)

Photobucket

This is both of my friends in one shot. They look like they're just lazing on the rocks

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is a really cool shadow that I amped up the contrast to intensify it

Photobucket

I love shots of people walking into the distance

Photobucket

This is a full-body shot of my friend. Her dress looks amazing next to the flowers :)

Photobucket

By this time, we reached a quarry near my friend's neighborhood, it was scorching hot there

Photobucket

The pose my friend is in reminds me of those old Japanese photographs of people kneeling near the river

Photobucket

This cactus flower as the highlight of the quarry

Photobucket

This looks absolutely nostalgic

Photobucket

This was my friend before she got bitten by a bunch of angry ants :(

Photobucket

This reminds of a nail ad. I love the contrast of the blue and yellow because they're complementary colors

and finally, my friend's cat, Smith being angry XD

Hero

These are some images of Hero from the as-of-now broken up TVXQ :(. Basically, three members; Hero, Xiah and Micky were fed up with the way they were paid (or lack thereof) and the way they were treated. These three members sued their Korean record company SM for unfair and unethical treatment and to fix their contract (in summer 2009). A huge controversy erupted because the other two members of TVXQ, U-know and Max refused to sue SM.

So TVXQ conducted more activities with their Japanese record company, Avex, which holds joint ties with SM.

In the fall of 2009, The court ruled that the three members (Hero, Xiah and Micky) had the right to conduct individual activities FREE from their record company, but the battle was still not won because SM refused to claim that their contract was unfair. So now SM, in a SECOND suit is suing the three members for libel and damage to their reputation for MILLIONS of dollars. Who knows how the courts will rule in this second suit.

The three members (Hero, Xiah, Micky) signed a separate contract with their Japanese record company Avex. They will tour Japan and put out a new single or album within the year. I don't fault their decision to sue SM, but it breaks my heart to see the broken ties between them and U-know and Max. I wonder if they will ever be able to mend their relationship.

This just emphasizes the unfairness of the music industry and abuse that abounds just so that people can have achieve their dream of being singers. TVXQ's story is not that uncommon. It happens in the industry quite frequently, but not many people dare to speak out because the record companies are backed by HUGE stock companies that invest millions into that company.

WHOA got way off topic of this blog, but it's just something I wanted to express for a year now because I am still one of the biggest supporters of TVXQ, whether they just decide to do individual activities or decide to rejoin as TVXQ (although the chances of that are not large).

Always keep the faith! Here are pictures of Hero to distract you from the depressing entry.

I added the green and rain droplets. It looks like he's super depressed.

hero4,

This is a metallic effect

This last one was taken from a TVXQ CD.

I realize that this isn't technically a "original photo" post nor were any of the photos taken by me. They were simply customized with different effects. Please don't sue me!

Sickeningly Sweet

I've always loved shooting the natural expressions of children because they don't care that you're taking a picture; they only care about the good time they're having. There's no posing or artifice. Most of the time they're not even aware that a camera is there.

The Power of Flight

This is a very small update I wanted to share of two edits I made. These were shot 5 years ago in New York City (first one), and Jekyll Island. Pictures of birds always inspire me when I'm not feeling particularly enlightened (like right now in my wonderful job search) and when I feel sort of blank.

Colors of Spring Part two

I used more color edits for these images, but nothing is really changed. I wanted to show more images and colors for the "colors" part. Most were edited using this program called "Irfanview" which is mostly just used for image resizing. It's capabilities are limited but you can change the color effects, saturation, and sharpness and other basic stuff like that.

Colors of Spring

spring,tea set

This is a photo taken in my backyard using a serving cup from a rusting tea set. I love that my camera is reflected in the cup. The leaf was placed to add contrasting color. The excellent lighting that day helped.

spring,bee,flower

I managed to capture these flowers just as a bee landed on them for pollen.

spring magenta

This was shot from below so the light hit the flower at just the right angle. I think it turned out quite nicely, although the camera probably didn't like it

lavender,spring
This was another shot from below. I managed to sneak a picture before the neighbors asked what I was doing taking pictures of their flowers.
